- Key People at Commandtext
Commandtext's founders have worked together for a dozen years. We initially led the electronic products development Group at CCH, Incorporated, one of the largest publishers of legal information in the world. In 1996, while preserving a close relationship with CCH, we left to form Advanced Data Engineering, Inc. In November, 2000, we sold ADEi to Softquad Software Ltd, a Canadian corporation headquartered in Toronto. In March, 2002, Softquad was acquired by Corel Corporation. In September, 2003, Corel was acquired by Vector Capital. In March 2004, Vector sold XMetaL and the other assets of what had formerly been Softquad to Blast Radius, Inc., a Canadian corporation headquartered in Vancouver. Commandtext's founders chose this last transition as a good opportunity to switch gears and start over as a fresh, new business.
